fuckyeahmusicnerds: There’s a webcomic called Soul Symphony that’s about a group of music kids. It’s a fantasy/action/comedy about an anti-social clarinet girl in high school who helps out her classmates by going into worlds inside their souls and fighting monsters with music-based magic. You can read it here: www.soulsymphonycomic.com It’s written by a music kid for music kids. A bunch of band, orchestra, and chorus kids from my school read it and seem to like it, so I think the world of music tumblrs will too! Thank you!

My new soprano wants to be tuned in Eb, and tenor wants to be tuned down to an out of tune B, or an extremely out of tune C, it’s like B and a 1/4ish.

I heard this song in the trailer of Pixar’s upcoming movie Brave. So I searched around the net and found the title and meaning.

This song is a Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig) song. The song is beautiful. And if you read the meaning, it’ll be much more.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

laurennoelle4: DAT BASS! I always thought old notation is better than new notation, i hate reading above the staff ledger lines in bass clef. The Classical-Romantic Era “octave lower than sounding” bass clef is way easier to read, and low CC is such a fun note to play wide open. although a lot of advanced and modern stuff goes really low so new notation is usefull too, but i guess thats what 8va and and 8v basso are for.

Something I see often on Horn pictures that bugs the flying shite out of me. Too many slides pulled out; both 3rd valve slides should be pushed all the way in ( i could rant why ), and too many people ‘tune’ the water slide on the change valve. both are unnecessary, and should be pushed all the way in.

if enough people ask, I can elaborate on why.
