those magical moments when your visual caption head posts the drill charts on drop box before a camp.
midnight dot book writing.
note to self, don’t leave the dot book hanging on the back of your door especially when you’re learning staged drill(no charts).
As i go off to rehearsal wanted to make sure to wish everyone have fun at spring training!
in other notes i think we’re getting show drill today, and maybe a new mellophone.
nothing like that first sunburn of weekend rehearsals to let people know what tank top you wore for vis block…
getting nostalgic and watching videos from the last season I marched.
2011 was really amazing musically, convenient thing about being so short is i’m easy to find and track in the drill… and i don’t understand why no one ever clapped for my solo in the ballad, it was all pretty sounding dammit.
What mouthpiece is your mell line playing on right now?
Figure now is a good time since camps are starting up, and your tech knows what sound they want. I was playing a curry TF the last couple seasons but i lost it at my gig last week since it’s also my “too lazy to bring a flugel to a trumpet gig just for one ballad so here’s this little thing” mouthpiece. I’m mostly debating on getting a TF again or going for a Hammond; however outside options are great. i also have a bigger embouchure so anything like a M6 is out of the question.
