there is a definite finality of a move when you take apart your bed. Home is where you sleep, and rest.
Moving is not my favourite thing.

Moving is not my favourite thing.
It’s only ever truly clean the week before and after i move somewhere.
Its usually mildly clean, kind of the ‘method to my madness’ sort, with things everywhere but organised.
I’m organising all of my things into boxes and bags and running the electric sweeper over my carpet.
I haven’t had it this clean since my first week in the apartment 3 months ago. only 3 months fucking sublease
My Girl is gonna flip when she sees my floor… because you can actually see all of the floor.
It’s one of the few upsides to moving, letting my OCD take over and reorganising everything.
I kind of love blasting Irish folk to clean to, and I really love using my electric sweeper for reasons beyond My comprehension. =]
APPLES!
It takes more calories to digest an apple than is contained in the fruit. The same goes for celery. So if you want to get a few more calories burned, snack on an apple or a halfdull of celery sticks. You will burn more calories than you consume while getting your colourfull fruit/ veg intake for the day.
to your health and mine…
and the car i was using had the battery die and i needed to have AAA send a jumpstart truck.
got to my mums place and had to fist clear out all the stuff i had in my old room for storage before i could move my stuff back in.
One advantage of moving in with my mum temporarily is i get to play my drumkit again.
this week i have to move stuff out of my apartment into my mums place, have rehersal and do a family day performance with my drum corps on saturday, then be completely moved out by the end of the month, and then pack for a week in rochester.
and hopefully get my deposit before i leave so i can put it into my credit card payments.
bloody flipping busy.
FML.
lets shower together.
I’ve been asked what instruments I play.
STOUT!
Rich taste in lower calories than most beers by its nature. Stouts carry more flavanoids than most other beers. Flavanoids are the heart-healthy favanoids found in Wine.
The most famous and crowd favouite is Guinness.
A 12 ounce of Guinness has only 125 calories.
That is the same amount of calories in a Sam Adams Light.
the equally popular Bud light has 110 calories. Is saving 15 calories worth switching from a full bodied stout to a beer that tastes closer to “soda water with a hint of beer”?
If you want the best beer in taste to health ratio pop open a Guinness.
and if one must absolutely have a light beer, i highly reccommend Amstel Light since it tastes the most full bodied of beers and still keeps it’s calories under 100.
To your health and mine.
I’ve never read The Hunger Games (nor do I have any plans to), but seeing people tumble/tweet about tonight’s midnight release has me thinking about the Harry Potter fandom….
Hi, friends. Can I please remind you that it was us who started this grand tradition of midnight book release parties?…
My friends are so insightful.
charlesphoenix reblogged your photo: Yay having fun in Irvine! :D
welcome to Irvine =] Eaten at Cha yet?… because you should.
Oh you go to UCI? And no, I have not ate at Cha yet. I heard of it though!
I don’t go to UCI but i live down by the college. I have about a hundred friends that do go, including my girlfriend, shes poli-sci/pre-law.
i reccommend cha… really popular, great staff and it’s one of the few things open past 9 or 10 in irvine, they’re actually open till 1. I reccommend getting a cheap bike from the UCI repo sale and hanging around UTC and the surrounding area a lot. since it’s the college area of irvine things are magically open later.
Here’s a sample of a song I’ve been working on for the passed day or so, its nothing really special. I’ll be writing some lyrics some time soon to hopefully spice it up, then eventually finish it. Oh, and the working title is “My Body Is Where Burritos Go To Die”, sorta an inside joke from my work.
I have the pleasure of jamming with this kid when we’re both available.
and Aaron who’s playing drums? because even if you got better, which is brill, that does not sound like your set.
Valerie on the condition of the stock room at the cafe.
I love my coffee people.
Ducky, i think you’d appreciate this :]
Yea Vero, i did…=]
you soo funnies, and you made my day brighter.
love you.
and yes followers… my sister calls me ducky
My clients are usually a bit surprised when I tell them that sometimes, calorie-dense foods are good for them. But their surprise makes total sense. They’ve been told over and over that “calories in, calories out” is THE formula for weight loss. So it follows that the lower in calories a food…
mmm food science…
Is not the phone call i want to be woken up by…
some company that i don’t recollect having given my credit card information to has been hacked, and my visa compromised…
cancelled my old card, reset passwords, updated my address, and had to convince the lady to expedite my new card to the correct address…
now i have to track spending (lack thereof) and turn in a fraudulent charge inquiry…
good morning?
FML…
Amazing art thru sheepherding. it’s Baamazing
something i tweeted on 15 Nov 2009 that someone decided to bring up.
Now my twitter is mostly a link feed to my tumblr
Pianists have long played Pachelbel’s stately Canon, but Japanese jazz player Hiromi Uehara stands out for her treatment of this classical chestnut. In the version on her new CD, Place to Be, she starts off sounding like a typical, earnest student, plunking the oft-heard melody at a deliberate pace. Then the piano takes on a weird sound — strained, thin, metallic, almost like a robo-harpiscord. Hiromi has “prepared” her instrument by placing a metal ruler on the strings to alter its essence. Instantly, the Canon loses its familiarity.
Next, the 30-year-old keyboardist fiddles with the piece itself, adding syncopation and swing and charming, stuttered notes. She turns the melody over to the left hand; her right hand reappears with enchanting trills and intricate improvisations on the melody. Rolling chords, tinged with dissonance, rise and fall like ocean waves.
Throughout, Hiromi’s classical technique is evident in her firm yet light touch, in her impeccable sense of time and in her respect for the structure of the piece, even as she turns it inside-out. Her reinvention of the Canon is whimsical and witty, moody and meandering. Yet, in the end, the piece wanders back to its original form: Hiromi’s restless fingers land on the final chord, delicately and sweetly, just as millions of pianists have done before her.
A few things I’ve picked up over my years of playing horn.

BTW: old photo
Fake High C: On some horns a high C can pop out while pressing the first valve of the F side down halfway. This is not recommended for performance as the tone quality of this note suffers. A way to try it is to play a normal third space c on the f side and slowly press down the first valve. Usefull for effect.
Fake High D:Pull out completely the first tuning slide of the F-horn. Playing this combination (T1) produces a stable, well centered tone, which blends quite well in the context of baroque music (e.g J.S.Bach kantata nr.100 in G). This is of course not the case with symphonic, post-romantic parts, or with contemporary music.
Double horn transitions: transitioning from each side of the horn should be undetectable and the point on transition is not set in stone( i.e. not always Ab). The notes middle Ab up to second line C have identical fingerings and should be in tune, and have identical timbre on both sides. It is advisable to use the Bb side down to Ab and then switch when descending as is common custom, but use the F side up thru 2nd line C when ascending before switching to Bb. This switch point masks the change valve more effectively making the tone sound more uniform in moving lines.
Fundamental pedal CC: if you have a double horn and cannot achieve the pedal C (2 ledgers below bass clef) on the F side of the horn, it may be played T13. The tone quality will sound closer to that of a Baritone horn, but you will have achieved the note.
Reading a trombone/baritone part in bass clef: read the notes as if in tenor clef and adjust the key signature accordingly. Pay attention to play notes Low F and lower, with the Bb side as much as possible. The tone quality will be uncharacteristic of the Horn and closer to that of the baritone, and have more stable entrances.
Wind/dragon breath effect: You can emulate wind or dragons breath as a sound effect on horn. Take out the mouthpiece and place it back wards in your mouth, hold the mouthpiece so that the mouthpiece receiver on the horn floats about halfway into the mouthpiece cup. Blow into the shank, this should give a nice wind or large animal breath effect useful in theatre.
Range: the horn can cover up to 4+ octaves and covering that range with one mouthpiece can give a strained and false sound in it’s lower and higher range. Parts are always written in paired high parts and low parts. Traditionally 1 + 3 are high, and 2 + 4 are low, with a 5th player (bumper) doubling the lead for loud sections in large ensembles. The parts can always be expected to cover 2.5 to 3 octaves each in either direction. Unless you specialise as a 4th horn, bring two mouthpieces. You will want your regular medium-ish mouthpiece, and most common is a separate low horn piece that is deeper with a bigger bore. This of course may be backwards if you play 1st, then you will be of the persuasion to use a single Bb or descant horn to facilitate the upper range and are use a shallower medium to small cup that will support that horn. This use of a separate horn with one mouthpice is common for leads instead of carrying a separate mouthpiece for the double horn, since they are asked to cover a tessitura in the higher range and usually no lower than about low Gb.
Bahaha people always talk about how their first kisses suck, and I’m just like, wowow I’m sorry but mine was awesome. :D
I had my first kiss at a football game. My girlfriend who went to a different high school at the time had come to see me play at halftime. Our rules for marching band gave us most of the 3rd quarter off after playing the halftime show. I left my shako with my trumpet in the stands, and went looking for her in half dress with my jacket over my shoulder. I got a ‘hey you, i’m cold’ from next to the old unused ticket booth. I walked over and slung my jacket around her, which of course for marching jackets is awkward and backwards. Pulled her close and told her she looks amazing in it with this light. It was supposed to be a joke. I meant it. Our quiet corner with all the stadium lights facing away and nothing but glow of the stadium and the moon. I had my first kiss there, wearing half my marching uniform, with my jacket to hold her close.
I’d like to think mine was awesome as well, felt like sharing.
Remembering how underrated video game soundtracks can be, they are just as in depth as movie soundtracks.
Remembering how much i want to make my career playing in a symphony. Preferrably F horn, or trumpet/cornet 2. I love playing the middle voiceing and counter melodies.
I would love to be playing soundtrack symphony till i’m 70 thank you.
